SITE HISTORY – EARTH 818

Something To Avenge takes place in a world separate from that of the main Marvel Comics Universe and the Recent Film Series. While it draws on both these and other sources, it is its own place, an alternate Earth known as Earth 818. The following is a list of events, ordered chronologically that explains the formation of the Avengers, from Steve Roger's transformation into The First Avenger, to the team's on-the-fly trial by fire against The Hulk and Loki, and on up through Osborn's Dark Reign, after which gameplay begins.

This site is AU, and as such, your characters must fit within our own timeline as much as possible, but so long as they do, you have a lot of room to mess around with their origins and upcomings, so long as you, and we cannot stress this enough, do not radically alter the core nature of the character. This means we do not want Spider-Man to be evil or for Doctor Doom to be a prancing lily in the field.

Timeline

1942 – Steven Rogers becomes Captain America

1943 -- The Red Skull is foiled by Captain America. His Cosmic Cube is lost.

1945 – Captain Rogers goes Missing In Action during an attack by Baron Zemo.

1994 -- The Cosmic Cube is located; Newly formed SHIELD takes custody of it.

2000 -- Construction of the U.S.S Liberty begins.

2003

-- Tony Stark is captured in Pakistan; builds prototype Iron Man Suit to escape.

-- Bruce Banner becomes The Incredible Hulk; vanishes soon after.

2004

– Captain America’s body is found preserved in the Arctic Circle by a Science Team

-- Tony Stark confronts and defeats Obadiah Stane. Reveals self as Iron Man to the World

-- Thor is banished from Asgard, regains his honor and defeats Loki.

2005

-- Captain America approached by Nick Fury.

-- Psyche-Magnetron causes Mar-Vell’s Kree attributes to imprint onto Carol Danvers.

-- Tony Stark approached by Phil Coulson.

-- The search for The Hulk begins; Banner continues to elude authorities

2006

-- The U.S.S Liberty is launched.

-- Loki returns to Earth. Thor detects this and follows.

-- Captain America, Iron Man, Warbird, and Thor team up to stop The Hulk and bring down Loki.

-- The Avengers are born. Iron-Man establishes a meeting place in his New York mansion.

2007-2011

-- Heroes begin the rise to prominence, Spider-Man appears, combatting the Green Goblin

-- The Avengers come together again to confront various threats. New members join.

-- Norman Osborn begins his political career

-- Nick Fury disappears without a trace.

2011

-- Osborn has himself installed as Director of SHIELD, which he then disbands. HAMMER is born.

-- The Dark Reign begins.

-- The helicarrier Maelstrom is launched as Hammers first helicarrier.

--The Xavier Institute is destroyed; The X-Men relocate to the West Coast

-- Osborn’s Thunderbolts attack the Avengers. They are forced into hiding.

-- Thanks to Natalia Romanova, The Avengers are able to expose Osborn.

2012

--March-- Combined might of SHIELD, the Avengers, the X-Men, and other various heroes drives Osborn out of power and into hiding. Mar-Vell is killed and passes his legacy to Carol Danvers. The Dark Reign Ends.

-- March-- Avengers’ names are cleared; The Hunt for Norman Osborn begins

-- April--Tony Stark begins converting Stark Enterprises New York into The Avengers Tower.

-- June -- Tony Stark pushes a bill through to reinstate SHIELD; names Philip Coulson as Director.

-- September - Gameplay Begins
